Was at this show last night, as a side note, Derek Cruz of Black Sheep and Prodigal Sons (previously featured on scoute) did all the accessories which i think really brought this together.

Big let down in my opinion.

I know much of this is all subjective to personal experience, but its all too easy to feel let down when we have undefined expectations. Gladly, Mr. Sherbanenko (what is he, 22,23?) is showing us that familiarity and innovation have a home together. He’s also displayed an ability to keep-up with the rigors of the industry now for a few seasons. My hat is off to him as well. Sure, things aren’t perfect, but they’re good and at times positively challenging. Lets encourage his continued exploration and celebrate the successes of this new up-and-coming talent rather than act as if we are all middle-aged grave diggin’ cynics with nothing but distrust of human sincerity and risk-taking. After all, what are our options? More khakis, linen suits, checked shirts, blue jeans, and goofy stuff like this:

Really disappointing. Glad I ditched the show and got drunk at Number (N)ine instead.

This is AWFUL; it can’t be anymore derivative and cliche. Furthermore, the construction on more than enough of the pieces looks terrible. SMH, I’m all in favor of supporting young designers, just ones that have their own vision and are not knock-off artists.

Show, in my opinion was a breath of fresh air and very powerful… Odyn Vovk has some longevity and is NOT going anywhere…

Well stated #4. If I see anymore khakis, blue jeans and button ups this season, I will throw up. Keep it up Mr. Sherbanenko.

Ok, maybe it’s not the most mind blowing obscure unwearable crap ever, but what i like about odyn, is that it’s actually legit to wear for the average person who enjoys fashion. Most this stuff is practical, yet still a little eccentric. If I had the money i’d buy one of the leather pieces in a heartbeat.
