In Aisce FW10

The collection contains echoes of deviant aesthetics from the American 1860s, a decade of civil warfare that pitted brother against brother, father against son – each side with its own claim to the light and neither side without its share of tragic injustice. This dynamic and shifting duality is played out in the In Aisce Fall/Winter 2010 collection, symbolizing the black and white of the inherent dualism of the human
anima. The collection was photographed to exhibit this with two bodies that shared traits yet represented antitheses of character – rough vs elegant, outlaw vs gentleman.
Jona has carried this contrast beyond the first visual impact of the garment in his use of materials - unnaturally treated leathers and certified organic cottons, metal foil coating on cashmere/wool – and in the construction where he has utilized and arsenal of tradition tailoring techniques alongside unconventional and improvised methods.
