Me Mo Rie

March 6th, 2010 by scoute

Me mo rie is a collaborative project between Maurizio Altieri and Guidi, which resurrects several classic pieces of Carpe Diem footwear. This union and the fruit they bear, come at a time when anticipation runs high for a chance to secure a pair of the highly sought after Carpe Diem pieces so many had missed opportunities on. The collection is said to be bereft of any new designs or concepts. It is said to be a simple stroll down memory lane (a walk we are happy to take, mind you) and a chance to acquire a piece of the past with which to make your own memories. As we await the rise of Altieri’s new concepts realized in Avantindietro, this is a welcome interim offering, which we accept with open arms as a reminder to look ahead at what is yet to come. Me mo rie is projected to be available in stores for the F/W10.11 season. reported by Sartorialoft.

Titled Grey Heart Leaking, the collection is a demonstration of the ambiguity and polarity of the human soul. As no soul is either good nor bad, or even one complete extreme of any personality trait, the garments are also of indefinite aesthetic nature. They are neither completely refined nor entirely crude, neither wholly antique nor fully modern.

Collateral 2010

February 17th, 2010 by scoute

The second iteration of Collateral is entitled Aequanimitas, a term defined by Sir William Osler, reffering to the mental virtue of accepting what happens in life with calmness - an essential quality for those practicing medicine. Medical and anatomical influences are very evident in label’s second collection as many of the cuts and shape follow the structure of the human body and muscle groups. Take for example the long sleeve shirt, which is cut based on the movement points of the body. The paneled construction allows for movement in the needed areas while the shirt is reversible and fully finished on both sides. Materials range from various leathers such as calf and water buffalo to fabrics like cashmere/wool/mohair used on the hooded top. All the silver hardware is hand made and utilizes various treatments to get a desired finish.
